NOTICE OF OPPORTUNITY TO PROVIDE PUBLIC COMMENT ON THE DRAFT
“UPCOUNTRY MAUI GROUNDWATER NITRATE INVESTIGATION REPORT”

The Hawaii Department of Health conducted and prepared an investigation report on nitrates in Upcountry Maui. The Department requests public comment on the Draft “Upcountry Maui Groundwater Nitrate Investigation Report,” dated February 2018, which details the study area and results of the investigation. The Draft Upcountry Report is available online at

On Wednesday, February 21, 2018, the DOH attended the Kula Community Association meeting to discuss the impact of cesspools in the area and presented this draft report. The presentation is available online at http://health.hawaii.gov/wastewater/cesspools/.
