Notice of Funding Availability

EMERGENCY SOLUTIONS GRANTS PROGRAM
HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PERSONS WITH AIDS

The City and County of Honolulu, through its Department of Community Services, is soliciting applications from qualified nonprofit agencies for the following two programs:

1. EMERGENCY SOLUTIONS GRANTS (ESG) PROGRAM, authorized by Subtitle B of Title IV of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act (42 U.S.C. §§11371- 11378). Approximately $1.3 million in funding is anticipated to be available for emergency shelter operations and services, and homelessness prevention and rapid re-housing activities which help persons who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness.

2. HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PERSONS WITH AIDS (HOPWA), authorized by the AIDS Housing Opportunity Act (43 U.S.C. §12901). Approximately $450,000 in funding is anticipated to be available for financial assistance and supportive services which help low-income persons with HIV/AIDS and their families remain stably housed.

Interested agencies may pick up the Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) packet at the Department of Community Services, 925 Dillingham Boulevard, Suite 200, Honolulu, Hawaii. Agencies may also request an electronic version of the NOFA for both ESG and HOPWA Programs via an email to Megan Wharton at megan.wharton@honolulu.gov.

A public information meeting for the ESG Program will be held at the Department of Community Services, 925 Dillingham Boulevard, 2nd Floor Conference Room, Honolulu, Hawaii, on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Attendance at the information meeting is encouraged, but not required.

Applications must be submitted to the Department of Community Services, Kapalama Hale, 925 Dillingham Boulevard, Suite 200, Honolulu, Hawaii by 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2018.
