The Merit Appeals Board, County of Hawai’i, announces the anticipated vacancy:
DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES
(Appointed – Exempt from Civil Service)
$99,000 Annual Salary
The Director of Human Resources is the County’s principal human resource officer serving as the administrative head of the Department of Human Resources.
A detailed description of the essential duties and responsibilities of the position are described in the Director of Human Resources’ position description which can be found at jobs.hawaiicounty.gov or at the Department of Human Resources, 101 Pauahi Street, Suite 2, Hilo, Hawai`i.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Shall be a citizen of the United States and resident of the State of Hawai’i for at least one year immediately preceding appointment [Hawai’i Revised Statutes 78-1(b)], and
Possession of a bachelor’s degree in human resources, public personnel administration, industrial relations, or a related field (human resource management experience may be substituted on a year for year basis in lieu of a bachelor’s degree), and
Five (5) years’ service in any human resource functional area, three (3) years of which shall have been in an administrative capacity.
