PUBLIC NOTICE
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG)

On April 27, 2017, the City and County of Honolulu (City), published a Public Notice in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser proposing to reprogram CDBG funds from prior and current year projects and appropriate the funds to Fiscal Year 2017 acquisition projects, in order to achieve CDBG program goals more efficiently and expediently. In June 2017, the City determined that it would not be in the best interests of the City or the CDBG program to proceed with the proposed acquisition projects and withdrew its offer on the two properties.

In order to satisfy the May 2, 2018 timeliness test and to avoid jeopardizing current and/or future U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) entitlement program funding, the City desires to reprogram these available CDBG funds to capital improvement projects identified in the City’s Twenty-Third (23rd) Year Action Plan. Pursuant to the City and County of Honolulu’s (City) Citizen Participation Plan, the proposed revisions to the following Fiscal Year projects are provided for your information.
