NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Pursuant to section 11-160-7, Subchapter 2, Hawaii Administrative Rules, notice is hereby given that the Department of Health (DOH) will conduct a public hearing to receive public oral or written testimony on petitions that propose the following medical conditions to be added to the list of debilitating medical conditions that qualify for the medical use of cannabis: 1. Anxiety 2. Depression 3. Insomnia HEARING DATE The public hearing will be held as follows: Date: October 29, 2020 Time: Starts promptly at 9:00am Place: This will be a virtual event using Zoom. Please go to https://health.hawaii.gov/medicalcannabisregistry/ for the link to join and to register. Registration is free and optional and will remain open until the end of the public hearing. If you prefer not to register, the link to join the public hearing will be available one hour prior to the start of the public hearing. PUBLIC TESTIMONY All interested persons shall be afforded the opportunity to submit testimony, orally or in writing, on the proposed medical conditions at the time of the public hearing. Persons who are not able to attend the public hearing may submit written testimony to DOH: by mail at 4348 Waialae Avenue, #648, Honolulu, Hawaii, 96816; or by email at medicalcannabis@doh.hawaii.gov. All testimony must be received no later than November 5, 2020, 4:30pm to be considered. Any person requiring a special accommodation (e.g., assistance of a sign language interpreter) at the public hearing shall file a request with DOH by email at medicalcannabis@doh.hawaii.gov or by calling (808) 733-2164, Tuesdays or Thursdays between 8:00am and 12pm at least ten business days before the public hearing. VIEWING OF THE PETITIONS The petitions proposing the new conditions may be viewed: On the internet, free of charge, at DOH’s web site http://health.hawaii.gov/medicalcannabisregistry/submenu/petition- process-to-add-new-conditions/ Via email, free of charge, by making a request to DOH at medicalcannabis@doh.hawaii.gov; Via mailed hard copy if a request is made to DOH at medicalcannabis@doh.hawaii.gov and upon payment of required copying and postage fees.
