NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation (HHFDC), Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism, State of Hawaii, will hold a public hearing on August 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the HHFDC Boardroom, 677 Queen Street, Suite 300, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813, on amendments to and compilation of Chapter 15-306, "General Excise Tax Exemptions," Hawaii Administrative Rules.
The proposed amendments implement changes to the State General Excise Tax Exemption made by Act 54, SLH 2017, as amended by Act 39, SLH 2018; clarify that projects of the Hawaii Public Housing Authority are government assistance projects under the rules; amend the definition of regulatory agreements; amend the process of approval and certification of eligible projects; amend the process of certification of rental housing projects; increase program fees; and make other conforming, housekeeping, and technical amendments.
All are invited to state their views on the proposed rules orally or in writing. Five copies of written testimony shall be given to the presiding officer at the hearing, or within seven days before the hearing to HHFDC, Attention: Mavis Masaki, 677 Queen Street, Suite 300, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813.
The proposed rules are available for review at HHFDC, 677 Queen Street, Suite 300, during regular business days from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It is also available on the HHFDC website at http://dbedt.hawaii.gov/hhfdc/administrative-rules and at regional public libraries. A copy of the proposed rules may be mailed upon receipt of $3.09 for copying and postage costs.
