Bill 29 (Draft 2): Amends Chapter 25, Article 3, Section 25-3-3, of the Hawai’i County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as Amended), Relating to the Establishment of Zoning Districts. Allows for the establishment of special zoning districts using methods of geographical description other than metes and bounds. Ayes: Council Members Hustace, Kagiwada, Kaneali’i-Kleinfelder, Kierkiewicz, Kimball, Onishi, Villegas, and Chair Inaba – 8; Noes: None; Absent: Council Member Galimba – 1; Excused: None.

Bill 74: Authorizes the Issuance of a General Obligation Bond of the County of Hawai’i in a Principal Amount Not to Exceed Two Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars for the Purpose of Financing a Portion of the Costs of Constructing a Public Water System Serving Iki Place, Kohanaiki Homesteads, North Kona, Hawai’i; Fixes the Form, Denomination, and Certain Details of Such Bond; Provides for the Issuance and Sale of Such Bond and for Other Matters or Actions Pertaining Thereto. The sale of $275,000 of a general obligation bond to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is required for the County to secure a loan in the same amount from the USDA. Ayes: Council Members Hustace, Kagiwada, Kaneali’i-Kleinfelder, Kierkiewicz, Kimball, Onishi, Villegas, and Chair Inaba – 8; Noes: None; Absent: Council Member Galimba – 1; Excused: None.
