with training and experience
Permanent, civil service appointment. This position conducts state licensing inspections and federal CLIA certification inspections of clinical laboratories in the state of Hawaii.
Performs surveys (inspections) of all clinical laboratories and records findings to determine compliance with state and federal regulations. Provides consultation and training by interpreting federal certification regulations and state licensing requirements to laboratory directors, administrators, and other state agencies, and the public as appropriate. Investigates allegations and complaints of substandard procedures. Communicates observations and completes written reports on surveys for |
submission to state and federal agencies.
EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of professional medical technologist experience which involved a variety of laboratory procedures and tests on samples of body fluids, tissues and other materials, the purpose for which is to assist others in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of diseases, and experience in determining quality assurance involving the entire testing process.
LICENSE: Applicants must possess a current Clinical Laboratory Technologist license issued by the Department of Health, State of Hawaii prior to appointment.
