PROJECT NAME: Security Fencing at Makakilo 920 Reservoir
Hono’uli’uli Ahupua’a, ‘Ewa District, Island of O’ahu
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Honolulu Board of Water Supply (BWS) is proposing to replace the existing chain-link and expanded metal mesh security fence with new expanded metal mesh security fence at the Makakilo 920 Reservoir facility. This work involves demolition of 1,183 linear-feet of existing 8-foot-high combination chain link and expanded metal mesh security fence and installation of 1,181 linear-feet of 8-foot-high expanded metal mesh fence and barbed wire. The new fence will be installed along the same alignment as the existing fence. Existing slope erosion along the west side of the property will be addressed with new erosion control matting.
PROPOSED PROJECT AREA: Approximately 1.88 acres, the entirety of Tax Map Key parcel (1) 9-2-019:026 and owned by BWS.
POTENTIAL HISTORIC RESOURCES: The State Historic Preservation Division’s letter dated February 23, 2026 concurs with BWS’s determination of “No historic properties affected” pursuant to HAR §13-275-7(a)(1).
