On June 5, 2026, Bill 22 (2026) CD2, FD1, Relating to the Executive Operating Budget and Program for the fiscal year July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027, was presented to the Mayor for his approval or otherwise that on June 23, 2026, the Mayor returned said Bill duly signed but with vetoes of certain item or items or portion or portions thereof, therefore, pursuant to the City Charter said Bill, except for the item or items or portion or portions thereof so vetoed, became a duly enacted Ordinance (26-18) on June 23, 2026 and took effect July 1, 2026.
On July 8, 2026, pursuant to the City Charter the Council reconsidered and passed all the vetoed items or portions of said Bill, notwithstanding the Mayor’s veto, and became a duly enacted Ordinance (26-18), effective July 8, 2026, by the following votes:
AYES: Cordero, Kia’aina, Nishimoto, Okimoto, Tupola, Waters – 6.
NOES: Dos Santos-Tam, Weyer – 2.
ABSENT: Tulba – 1.
