THE MAUI POLICE COMMISSION

Announces Recruitment for

CHIEF OF POLICE

$158,851 Per Annum

The Maui Chief of Police is the administrative head of the Police Department and is responsible for the preservation of the public peace, prevention of crime, detection and arrest of offenders against the law, protection of rights of persons and property, enforcement and prevention of violations of all the laws of the State and ordinances of the county and all rules made in accordance therein, and for traffic safety and traffic safety education.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Citizen of the United States

Experience: Five years of experience in law enforcement, at least three of which shall have been in an administrative capacity.

THE COMMISSION IS SEEKING APPLICANTS WITH THE FOLLOWING:

Experience: Fifteen years as a law enforcement officer, five years of which must have been in an administrative position.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (B.A or B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university, and/or a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy or equivalent training.

Successful completion of all pre-employment evaluations, including, but not limited to, a physical examination, drug-test, psychological assessment, and background investigation.
