APPLICATION OF HAWAIIAN ELECTRIC COMPANY, INC. FOR APPROVAL TO RELOCATE A 46 KILOVOLT OVERHEAD TRANSMISSION LINE FOR THE SALT LAKE BOULEVARD 46 KILOVOLT & 12 KILOVOLT RELOCATION PROJECT

The STATE OF HAWAII PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION (“Commission”), pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes (“HRS”) § 269-27.5, HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that it will hold a virtual public hearing relating to the Application (“Application”) of HAWAIIAN ELECTRIC COMPANY, INC. (“Hawaiian Electric”), filed on March 11, 2020, for Commission approval to relocate a 46 kilovolt ("kV”) overhead transmission line along Salt Lake Boulevard on the island of Oahu. The public hearing will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. All interested parties may attend the public hearing as follows:

Hawaiian Electric is a public utility that provides electricity service to the island of Oahu. On March 11, 2020, Hawaiian Electric filed an Application, requesting that: (1) the Commission conduct a public hearing, as required by HRS § 269-27.5, for the overhead relocation of an existing 46 kV transmission line through a residential area; and (2) a Commission determination, pursuant to HRS § 269-27.6(a), that the relocated 46 kV transmission line be constructed above the surface of the ground.
The foregoing is a brief summary of the requests included in the Application. Copies of the Application are available for public review through the Commission’s electronic Document Management System, accessible at
