October 27, 2020 WATER BOARD OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI’I NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Water Board of the County of Hawai’i will hold a public hearing on November 24, 2020, at 9:15 a.m., for the purpose of considering and adopting a new cost of Power Adjustment Clause, pursuant to Hawai’i Revised Statutes Chapter 54, Part III, as amended. The public hearing will be held via web conferencing; Host Location: 345 Kekuanao’a Street, #20, Hilo, Hawai’i. The public may view the meeting via live stream at https://www.facebook.com/HawaiiDWS Oral Testimony: Those that want to provide oral testimony during the public hearing, must email dws@hawaiidws.org no later than 12 noon, Monday, November 23, 2020, with your name, phone number, and email address. You may be asked to register and your testimony will be included and recorded via the web conference application. Written Testimony: Anyone wishing to provide written testimony may do so by email to dws@hawaiidws.org facsimile to (808) 961-8657, or by mail to the Department of Water Supply at 345 Kekuanao’a Street, Hilo, HI 96720. Written testimony should be submitted no later than 12 noon, Monday, November 23, 2020, to be acknowledged at the public hearing. All written testimony, regardless of time of receipt, will be part of the permanent record. RATE CHANGE: POWER COST CHARGE The current Power Cost Charge of $2.01 per thousand gallons is under consideration for a possible decrease to reflect decreased power costs from all power sources. The proposed Power Cost Charge will be at a rate of $1.71. The approved rate will be effective the first day of the month after the establishment of the rate by the Water Board. If accommodation or auxiliary aid and/or services (i.e., sign language, interpreter, large print) to participate in the hearing is required, please call (808) 961-8050.
