NOTICE
The Council of the City and County of Honolulu at its meeting held on September 2, 2020, laid over and ordered published the following Resolutions. Pursuant to Section 3-202.9 of the Revised Charter of the City and County of Honolulu 1973, as amended, the Honolulu City Council hereby gives notice that the following Resolutions authorizing proceedings in eminent domain has been introduced and is under its consideration:
RESOLUTION 20-194 (FOR CONDEMNATION) PROVIDING FOR THE ACQUISITION OF LAND FOR PUBLIC USE, TO WIT: WAIMANU STREET (BETWEEN WARD AVENUE AND KAMAKEE STREET), SITUATE AT KEWALO, HONOLULU, OAHU, HAWAII, AND DETERMINING AND DECLARING THE NECESSITY OF THE ACQUISITION THEREOF BY EMINENT DOMAIN.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City and County of Honolulu:
That for public use and purpose, to wit: Waimanu Street (between Ward Avenue and Kamakee Street), Parcel 7 (TMK: 2-3-003), situate at Kewalo, Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii, proceedings in eminent domain as provided by law be instituted for the acquisition of Parcel 7, in fee simple, in order to improve the flow of traffic and to protect the access, health, and safety of motorists, residents of abutting properties, and first responders.
AYES: Councilmembers Anderson, Elefante, Fukunaga, Kobayashi, Manahan, Menor, Tsuneyoshi, Waters. – 8.
ABSENT: Councilmember Pine – 1.
RESOLUTION 20-195 (FOR CONDEMNATION) PROVIDING FOR THE ACQUISITION OF LAND FOR PUBLIC USE, TO WIT: WAIMANU STREET (BETWEEN DREIER STREET AND WARD AVENUE), SITUATE AT KEWALO, HONOLULU, OAHU, HAWAII, AND DETERMINING AND DECLARING THE NECESSITY OF THE ACQUISITION THEREOF BY EMINENT DOMAIN.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City and County of Honolulu:
That for public use and purpose, to wit: Waimanu Street (between Dreier Street and Ward Avenue), Parcel 1 (TMK: 2-1-049), situate at Kewalo, Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii, proceedings in eminent domain as provided by law be instituted for the acquisition of Parcel 1, in fee simple, in order to improve the flow of traffic and to protect the access, health, and safety of motorists, residents of abutting properties, and first responders.
AYES: Councilmembers Anderson, Elefante, Fukunaga, Kobayashi, Manahan, Menor, Tsuneyoshi, Waters. – 8.
ABSENT: Councilmember Pine – 1.
