The Kaho’olawe Island Reserve Commission (KIRC) is recruiting
qualified candidates for the positions of:
Public Information Specialist – The KIRC is seeking a
creative, tech-capable, self-starter that wants to join our team
and help restore Kaho`olawe through their strong communications
skills. We are seeking candidate that can help the KIRC
create and manage content for our multiple traditional media
(print, television, radio) and social media outlets. A keen eye
for design and technical ability to layout publications, provide
and coordinate content update on social media platforms and
engage in multi-media outreach are desired capabilities.
Cultural Resource Project Coordinator – The KIRC is
seeking a dedicated project manager that wants to join our
team and help restore Kaho`olawe through their passion and
knowledge of Hawaiian culture and heritage. We are seeking
a candidate that can help the KIRC manage multiple
projects including Native Hawaiian internships, cultural site
protection and coordinating Hawaiian cultural activities.
Extensive knowledge of Hawaiian history, language, cultural
traditions; working understanding of Section 106 NHPA and
HRS-6E is desired.
Both positions are located at the KIRC offices on Maui and
require trips and stays on Kaho`olawe to assist the team.
