October 15, 2020 WATER BOARD OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI’I NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Pursuant to Chapters 54, Part III, and 91-3 of the Hawai’i Revised Statutes, notice is hereby given that the Water Board of the County of Hawai’i will hold a public hearing on proposed changes to the Department of Water Supply’s Rules and Regulations on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at 9:30 a.m. In order to comply with the Governor’s 13th Proclamation Related to the COVID-19 Emergency, the public hearing will be held by web conferencing (Host Location: 345 Kekuanao’a Street, Suite 20, Hilo, Hawai’i). The public may view the meeting via live stream at https://www.facebook.com/HawaiiDWS. Written Testimony: Anyone wishing to provide testimony may do so by email to dws@hawaiidws.org, facsimile to (808) 961-8657, or by mail to the Department of Water Supply at 345 Kekuanao’a Street, Hilo, HI 96720. Written testimony should be submitted no later than 12 noon, Monday, November 23, 2020, to be acknowledged at the public hearing. All written testimony, regardless of time of receipt, will be part of the permanent record. Oral Testimony: Those that want to provide oral testimony during the meeting must email dws@hawaiidws.org no later than 12 noon, Monday, November 23, 2020, with your name, phone number, and email address. You may be asked to register and your testimony will be included via the web conference application. Pursuant to Chapters 54, Part III, and 91-3, Hawai’i Revised Statutes, the hearing will be for the purpose of hearing views and comments of all persons interested in the proposed changes to the Department of Water Supply’s Rules and Regulations. The proposed changes include Rule 1, Section 1-1 Definitions; Rule 2, Section 2-5 Rules of Practice; Rule 3, Section 3-11 Discontinuation of Water Service, and 3-12 Restoration of Water Service. A copy of the proposed amendments to the Rules and Regulations is available for mailing at no cost to any interested person who requests a copy by contacting the Board Secretary at 961-8050. The proposed Rule amendments are also posted on the Department of Water Supply’s website at http://www.hawaiidws.org under the Water Board tab.
