COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) PROGRAM

Pursuant to the City and County of Honolulu’s (City) Citizen Participation Plan, the proposed amendments to the City’s Twenty-Fifth (25th) Year Action Plan is provided for your information. The City desires to reprogram funds to a project that can utilize the funds immediately, specifically the acquisition of three duplexes at 54-83 and 54-83A/54-85 and 54-85A/54-87 and 54-87A Hauula Homestead Road, in order to achieve CDBG program goals more efficiently and expediently. The proposed revision to the Fiscal Year 2020 CDBG projects are provided for your information and use.

REDUCTION OF $645,000.00
Department of Community Services – Rehabilitation Loan Program
Project Description: Reprogramming of funds, from the City’s Rehabilitation Loan Program, which provides low cost loans to low- and moderate-income homeowners island-wide to make repairs needed to meet basic housing standards, related to health and safety, and energy efficiency improvements.

Project Description: Acquisition of a property, located in Hauula, which will provide affordable housing to low- and moderate-income households.
