HAWAII STATE ETHICS COMMISSION

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED ADMINISTRATIVE RULES

Pursuant to Hawai’i Revised Statutes (“HRS”) chapter 91, notice is hereby given that the Hawai’i State Ethics Commission (“Commission”) will hold a public hearing on proposed amendments to Title 21, Hawai’i Administrative Rules. The proposals address the Commission’s operations & procedures, including its administration and enforcement of the Ethics Code, HRS chapter 84, and the Lobbyists law, HRS chapter 97. The public hearing is scheduled for May 7, 2020, 9:00 a.m., via videoconference: https://bit.ly/HSECMay72020 (Note: If you have any technical difficulties, please call the Commission office at (808) 587-0460 and we will be happy to assist you.) If conditions allow, one or more Commissioners may convene in person at the Commission’s Conference Room, 1001 Bishop Street #960, Honolulu, HI 96813.

All interested persons shall be afforded the opportunity to submit data, views, or arguments, orally or in writing, on the proposed rules at the public hearing at any of the locations listed above. Persons wishing to submit written testimony may do so by emailing testimony to ethics@hawaiiethics.org. Written testimony must be received by 12:00 p.m. on 05/06/20. Decision-making on the proposed rules will take place at the conclusion of the public hearing or at a properly noticed Commission meeting.
The proposed rules may be viewed free of charge at ethics.hawaii.gov. A copy of the proposed rules will be mailed upon request to any interested person
(fees for copying/postage apply). Requests may be made by e-mail or by phone (808) 587-0460.
