Project Name: Kahuku Wells Unit No. 3

Island: Oahu Moku: Ko’olauloa Ahupua’a: Kahuku

Project Description: The Honolulu Board of Water Supply (BWS) is proposing to install a new well pump unit and appurtenances, install new underground pipelines, construct a new generator building and fuel tank, and modify the existing electrical building at the existing Kahuku Wells Station site. The purpose of this project is to address concerns related to capacity and reliability of the potable water supply for the Kahuku area. This work requires the use of heavy construction equipment to excavate approximately 250 cubic yards of site grading, install approximately 500 linear feet of supporting pipelines for the pump unit, and install a new retaining wall. All pump, building, grading, retaining wall, and pipeline work will be within the existing Kahuku Wells Station site (TMK 5-6-008:005).

Proposed Project Area: Approximately 1.0 acres total parcel size, approximately 0.6 acres project limits of work.

Potential Historic Resources: At this time, there are no known historic items within the project limits that will be affected by the construction of this project.
